About the position of Lead Site Reliability Engineer

The SRE team enables the product teams to focus on adding value to the customer experience by providing ways to run their applications automatically and reliably. The SRE team plays a crucial role in keeping our environment up and healthy. You will be challenged to participate in building services that are resilient, effectively monitored, and self-healing by applying best practices. As the lead you are responsible for managing the work (as the SRE product owner), aligning with your stakeholders (first and foremost the product teams) and setting the right priorities. It also means working closely with the individual team members and enabling them to grow. We are looking for someone who has the desire to push the technical boundaries of what is possible within the online domain and deliver the best possible experience to our customers. Affinity with retail is a plus, and the motivation to drive the Bijenkorf to the forefront of online retail is a must. 


Your main responsibilities Desired Skills And Experience:

Develop a vision and implement a strategy regarding site reliability Manage team members and stakeholders Be the product owner of the SRE team and backlog Design and develop software tools to reliably manage application delivery Improve the predictability and reliability of software releases with the implementation of automated build, test and deployment tools and processes Engage with Software Engineering to improve application stability with the design, development and implementation of application monitors and alerts Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack

  • Strong in coaching people in: the technical aspect of the work cooperation process
  • Can help formulate a technical vision for the work of the team
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Cloud Computing platforms and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, ArgoCD), monitoring (Prometheus, Elasticsearch)
  • Experience with configuration management
  • Experience with IT Operations
  • Experience with cloud security and at least a rudimentary knowledge of security in general
  • Experience with scripting languages

  • Experienced with coding in at least one of Go, Java, Kotlin
  • GCP knowledge
  • GitOps minded
