About the position of Online Content Editor Germany

Within de Bijenkorf our E-commerce team is the youngest and fastest growing department. Within this department a team of 120 digital natives work together on the further growth and professionalization of our digital services. In 2009 we opened our completely renewed webshop and now deBijenkorf.nl has become one of the biggest webshops in the Netherlands. By this summer we will start with a webshop in Germany, applying the learnings we gained with our Belgium webshop over the last 3 years. 

For our new German webshop we are currently building a dedicated team and are now looking to add an Online Content Editor. As Online Content Editor you are part of the Content Team and you work in the Germany squad. You are responsible for all content on debijenkorf.de and provide input for the other online channels. In all the work you deliver you pay attention to topicality, completeness and commercial fit. You also know how to translate delivered texts and images of brands into an appropriate expression.

Your main responsibilities

  • Producing and optimizing the website content with a commercial, informative, advisory and inspiring character (inspiration pages, landing pages, event pages, advice pages, etc.). That production consists off; writing copy, searching and editing images, generating the right URLs, providing attractive underlying offerings, setting up the campaign or content in the Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) content management system;
  • Gather the right commercial input from different angles of the organization, including the Online Merchandiser and Country Manager Germany;
  • Manage the content and underlying offer so that it is available in a timely, complete and up-to-date manner;
  • Monitoring the market and actively making proposals regarding the improvement and quality improvement of the own product group(s);
  • Creating storylines and concepts for online campaigns;
  • Ensuring unity between commerce and inspiration by creating a balance between the seasonal input, the commercial briefing and market trends in the product selection;
  • Support with the design and development of E-commerce photography;
  • The final editing of all textual content on debijenkorf.de;
  • Maintaining internal search content, re-directs, 404s and page view analytics
  • Managing various webshop-related statements about debijenkorf.de and e-mails.

Desired skills and experience

  • (Near) native German or extensive experience with the German consumer market;
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken;
  • A Bachelor/Master degree in a relevant field;
  • Proactive and result-oriented professional with a passion for content and communication;
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in a similar position where you are (were) responsible for placing, managing and structuring content on an online platform;
  • Experience within an E-commerce environment or online magazine/content environment is a plus;
  • Experience with working in project groups and/or involvement in projects from the knowledge field (content/communication);
  • Experience with content management systems;
  • Knowledge of and experience with Adobe Photoshop.
